Lab Manual Revisions and Demo Docs

We’re almost done taking the pictures for the next revision of our undergraduate lab manuals. This week, along with setting up and delivering 14 demonstrations to various physics classes around campus, we’ve been creating more demonstration documentations. Newly uploaded for this week:

I know we’ve been neglecting our blogging duties. But that’s because we’ve been busy improving our main website offerings. So far we’ve focused on doing this in a number of ways:

After a lot of frustration I managed to upload the new web site. I need to contact the guys in charge of the web server. Every time I was using gFTP (a graphical ftp client) the uploading would stall after a short period (usually, after three or four files), and would lock [...]

Finished the layout

After two months of studying, trial-and-error, and changing ideas I came to finalizing our LDP’s web site layout. Pure CSS2 and XHTML 1.0, not table-based layout. I am very satisfied with theĀ  results. It is within the “frame” designed by UC Irvine. All that’s left in order to have a finished web site [...]

We have our tool (finally !)

Today we have received our digital camera from B&H. We can now start taking pictures of our demos and move toward finalizing the project.

The Lecture Demo Blog Creation

BJ has had this great idea about blogging our Physics lecture demo program. It’s going to be added as a link on the Lecture Demonstrations Program (LDP)’s website. This way, we can document our demo development progress.
